Shannon Rothschild

Ms. Rothschild brings a diverse healthcare services and healthcare IT background to the Fund. Ms. Rothschild joins us most recently from Heron Capital, where she was a Venture Partner, focusing on biotech, life science, and medical device. Successful investments at Heron include IDEV Technologies, sold to Abbott for $310 million. Prior to Heron, she was Manager of Product Design and Development with Humana, Inc., one of the nation’s largest health benefits companies. At Humana she managed several healthcare markets, including Puerto Rico and Florida. Ms. Rothschild also developed the national plans for CAM (complimentary alternative medicine), including chiropractic care, massage, and nutraceuticals, and the national HumanaVision benefit and discount programs. Prior to Humana, Ms. Rothschild worked for David Mahoney, co-CEO of McKesson HBOC, in the iMcKesson business development/venture team. Prior to McKesson, she designed products for large payers at RealMed, a venture capital backed Healthcare IT firm. Ms. Rothschild also worked at Anthem Alliance, subsidiary of Anthem, Inc, where she ran special projects, focusing on Pharmacy Benefit Management Programs (PBM). Early in her career she managed the executive level education program at Indiana University. Shannon is a valued advisor to the Spindletop team.

Ms. Rothschild received her B.A. from Tulane University, and both her M.B.A. and M.H.A. from Indiana University.
