Pat Basu is a business leader who has served as a senior executive in the corporate, government, private equity and clinical sectors. A former Stanford Physician and White House Advisor, Pat currently serves as Senior Vice President for Optum and United Health where he is accountable for driving revenue, profit, quality and efficiency over several OptumHealth businesses including more than 20,000 team members, physicians and nurse practitioners.
Prior to his role at Optum, Pat helped start Doctor On Demand (DoD) a telemedicine service which enables patients to instantly video visit with a physician or psychologist from a phone or computer.
Before launching Doctor On Demand, Pat held roles as President, Chief Operating Officer & Chief Medical Officer at vRad, the post merger entity of public traded firms Virtual Radiologic (VRAD) and Nighthawk (NHWK).
Pat took a leave from Stanford University to serve as a White House Fellow and Senior Advisor, where he held a Top Secret Clearance and served at highest levels of Federal government to help execute portions of the economic and health agenda. Dr. Basu is a board-certified radiologist. He graduated with Honors from the University of Chicago, where he received both his M.D. and his M.B.A. He also graduated with honors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
